World Teachers' Day 2020

World Teachers' Day

World Teachers' Day is celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2020 with the theme: "Teachers: leaders in times of crisis and shapers of the future". It has been organized every year since 1994 to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the ILO / UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers of 1966 and the Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers in Higher Education, adopted in 1997. These normative instruments establishing standards set criteria for the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for their initial preparation and in-service training, recruitment, employment and working conditions. This year, it corresponds to the start of the school year for the 2020/2021 academic year in Cameroon.
