Yaoundé hosts the "First Session of Parliamentary Lunches on Entrepreneurship (PSDPE)"
In Cameroon, young people aged 15 to 34 represent more than a third of the inhabitants (they are about 9 million out of a total population of 27 million in 2020) and are three times more affected by unemployment than other categories of the population. Moreover, young graduates are especially tempted by a job in the administration or in public or parastatal enterprises, despite the saturation of the sector. The government is now convinced that the creation of businesses (entrepreneurship) will be a lever in the fight against unemployment, territorial and social fractures. This is why the state is setting in motion all its institutions in order to allow young people to see entrepreneurship as a voluntary and viable process and no longer as a stopgap or a survival, and to give them the keys to succeed. Developing an entrepreneurial culture very early on, from secondary education, in order to consider this alternative as a solution to the unemployment problem, is one of the essential challenges of the Support Program for Small and Medium Enterprises (PAPME) in Cameroon. We want proof of this that the holding in Yaoundé, on July 17, 2020, of the First Session of Parliamentary Lunches on Entrepreneurship (PSDPE) with a view to reflecting on the week of entrepreneurship training scheduled for September 2020, and of advanced training in certain technical activities: breeding, gardening, agriculture, fish farming, handicrafts, painting and screen printing, moral rearmament, learning local languages, ICT, clothing industry, etc.
