Road accident: at least 10 people died on the heavy Yaoundé-Douala axis
Reports indicate that the Buca Voyage transport agency recorded a fatal accident around Edea on Wednesday, leaving at least 10 people dead. Dozens of others injured are transferred to health facilities closest to this locality. According to preliminary reports, the 70-passenger Buca bus was reportedly involved in a collision, but the agency's authorities have not yet commented on the incident. The Yaoundé-Douala motorway route has recorded many deaths for many years due to road accidents, caused by high-speed motorists and unprofessional practices. In recent months, the Ministry of Transport has imposed sanctions on agencies and recalcitrant drivers, but this does not seem to curb road accidents. However, some people blame the ministry for conducting road safety campaigns during specific periods, leaving enough time for drivers to drive on the roads.
