YUNUS Trade Mark: Digital Transformation Acceleration Project in Cameroon
The new platform was launched in Yaoundé on April 05, 2023, by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL), Mrs. Minette LIBOM LIKENG. The platform hosted at the Cameroon Postal Services (Campost) deploys new services and financial products by mobile. These include micro-insurance, micro-credit, mobile payment and crowdfunding for entrepreneurs, digital mobility connecting the company's car fleet to the network of affiliated service stations. The State, through MINPOSTEL, sees positive spin-offs in terms of deployment and operation of new services, democratization of access to basic social services and improvement of opportunities, well-being and dignity of people and community. According to YUNUS' General Manager, Mr. Jehu Ndoumi, the financial services offered by the local start-up also target populations in remote areas.
