General Directorate of Taxes (DGI): The new Director General MEYONG ABATH has taken office

Appointed by presidential decree on March 20, 2023, Mr. Roger Athanase MEYONG ABATH took office on April 5, 2023 in Yaoundé. He replaces Modeste MOPA FATOING. The new Director General (DG) is a Senior Inspector of Financial Controls and Taxes. Before his appointment, he was Head of the Inspection of Tax Services at the DGI. Originally from Nguelemedouka in the Haut-Nyong department, Eastern region, he will have the heavy task of continuing the reforms initiated by his predecessor over the past ten years, and maintaining the strong collection of state revenues.
