The Frenchman Jean-Pierre Champeaux replaces the Cameroonian Samuel Libock as Director General of SOSUCAM
During a Board of Directors meeting held on 18 October in Yaoundé, all the managers of the Société Sucrière du Cameroun (SOSUCAM) were dismissed. Before his appointment, the Frenchman Jean-Pierre Champeaux, the new CEO of Somdiaa's subsidiary, now controlled by the Castel Group, was the CEO of Sucrerie africaine - Côte d'Ivoire (Sucaf CI, Somdiaa's Ivorian subsidiary). He will be assisted by Mr. Jean Louis Luscio who comes from the General Management of Somdiaa in Paris. The latter replaces Mr. Emmanuel Castells who occupied the position of Deputy General Manager (DGA). The official reasons for these dismissals are not revealed. For a source inside the company, these decisions are to be linked to the tensions recorded since the departure in December 2018 of Mr. Louis Yinda who then occupied the position of Chairman and CEO (CEO).
